Eddie, you may want to try crossing your straps. Left strap to right side tiedown point. The way you have it now, a sharp turn may slide your car slightly and possibly move it into the sidewall. :s005:
They also make shorter straps, I've seen a lot of rigs tied down with 6' to 8' straps. Those look longer than that. BTW I'm running long straps on my RC but my rear straps are holding my front axle and my front straps are tied into my rear axle (gotta love four bys for clearance when tieing down :D ).

edited to add: If you do cross your straps, tighten up slowly and check for clearance on your exhaust etc

You're absolutely correct Barc! Thanks again for your invaluable advice! Yes, the 4X4's are great for that! The Winching straps I bought,(4), for each corner are the Harbor Freight H.D. ones,,the only problem is the length, they are 20 feet I think,,I'll duct tape the 'tails off or use a Zip tie. :thumbsup: I bought the axle straps at www.truckntow.com they have a great selection,,but the prices are what you would expect for 'pro' grade equipment.

Eddie, there are many places online to get straps and trailer parts. I've used Northern Tool and E-Trailer

You'll be driving right past E-Trailer when you go through Wentzville (just west of STL, it's next to the GM van plant)

edited to add; also many U-Haul and trailer rental stores sell straps etc (usually more expensive). Also many truck topper and camper shell stores sell these. Farm supply stores (Tractor Supply, Orschelin, Farm & Home Supply etc) sell these also. Even some WalMarts sell them.

Thanks Barc! I think I have everything I need now. I brought along in my tool kit,, a 30 foot long Pro-Comp 10,000 lb. pulling strap, a few snatch blocks, 4- 5,000 forged hooks, Nylon fiber rope,(4,000 lb.). I think we'll have enough pulling equipment. The winch is ridiculously powerful and overkill for my application, but winching the car inside the trailer is way cool. And if Drew/Pat/Jim need it it's easily removable. I've been driving around town with my car/ inside the trailer,,not too bad,,I hope the other dudes can drive it as easily as I can. :thumbsup:

Have you tried adjusting the car front and/or rearward to try and even out the load? You want the car just forward of the center of gravity of the trailer, so the trailer is very slightly tongue-heavy.

Actually Barc, it has about 6 inches before making contact with my trunk lid in the rear floor/door when it's closed and secured. The front end has approx 3 feet in front of the front bumper before it contacts the wall. Pretty tight! :lol: I drove it and with a straight stretch of road and my 4 wheel discs and the electronic inertia brake controller I have it didnt need any 'boost' (increased current), to the trailer brakes for a smooth 'emergency' stop. I'm glad I bought the prodigy unit, it was a liitle more but it has an easy to use 'boost' feature. Also the car is centered over the dual axles and the engine of the car sits just over the centerline. :thumbsup:

If it starts to weave on the highway we will have to move the car forward a bit more Eddie. There is more room for you to sleep under the back end of the car anyway. We will just lock you up for the night each night. :mrgreen:

Sounds like a good plan Eddie. You may want t put some sort of marking (a vertical line a couple of inches long, a photo or whatever) where you can see it to use as a reference when loading, so you know where to stop for a balanced load. Either even with the driver, the mirror, the front fender or ...

Yeah, thats the plan Dave. Just dont lose the key, the roof vent is to small for me to egress! :lol: Already did that Barc, I used to small 3" X 8" blocks of wood and although not in the pic, I drilled 2 small holes/wood screw, to just keep them in place each time I load it.. The front tires/tyres are set up agin them. Makes loading it a breeze, just winch up to the blocks. But thanks for the tip anyways. :thumbsup: That other tire tread is from a 1956 Shivy which is a smaller car than the 1970 Dodge Challenger!:lol:
