Thanks Eddie. And thank Betty for me for going to the effort and letting me stay.
Yes that is 2.42 PM your time Eddie.
With the time zones my watch will be reading more like quarter to eight in the evening. It is going to be a LONG day for me. :D

You never know what is coming at you from around the corner. That is why I want to start taking life by the horns and start doing the things I always wanted to do.

This is going to be a VERY expensive year for me at a time when I really cannot afford it.

But we are only here once. And with what happened to me exactly two years ago now has really brought home to me the importance of living life to the full. Because you never know when it could all be taken away from you.

Well Drew. I will draw a draft outline here just to start with and we can add or subtract from this. Just say if any of it is a bad idea or add any of your ideas.

Me and Eddie should make yours early evening (in time for dinner I hope :D ) on Sunday night 27th.

We could maybe spend all day 28th at yours checking the cars out and getting ready for an early start on the 29th. Maybe go out for a meal somewhere?

We should allow 15 hours to get to Goldfield with a couple of short rest breaks. That means it will be quite late in the day by the time we get there. So we need to sort out some sort of accommodation and safe parking for the cars there. Unless we are camping?

The next day (30th) should not be so bad. Only about 9 hours to San Francisco.
We need to sort out accommodation there as well.
It might be cool to spend the whole of the next day (October 1st) there. Try and grab some good photos of the cars in some beauty spots or something? Maybe even just rest up a little.

Or maybe we can head out somewhere else before starting back to Denver.

It would be cool to take another route back. So suggestions on that would be welcome.

Maybe we should contact a magazine or something to see if they want any coverage?

Well I will buy you and Eddie dinner one night. Maybe two. That will be a big help when you see how much I can eat.

The cheaper we do this the better really. But I am thinking about the cars. You don't really want them parked anywhere overnight where they might get damaged or stolen. :disbelief:

We could always camp if that is cheaper. But I don't mind cheap Motels as long as there are no roaches in the rooms. I hate roaches. :s008:

Here is our 'Chariot' for a while Dave! It has heated Leather Seats. Disc with steering controls, rides like Chrysler 300, gets 20+ MPG. All we need is a spare driver to have this as the mobile chase vehicle/hotel/maintenance car. Drew assured me we have this covered by then. I would ask my brother Tom, but I dont think he can remain sane for that long of a time. He spent 2 years in Iraq/Kabul and hasnt been the same since

I was talking with the "War Department", my wife. And she think's, I should go. Doe's anybody want me? I'll have to fly in to, Denver. Rent a "Challenger". Drop it off in San Francisco. She's with you, Dave. She said,"If I was ever into a car, or movie so much. I would just do it!" I hate being in debt. But, I just got the thumb's up, from my, "First Lady"!
Tell me what you think. Pat
P.S. Is there any room there, left to sleep next to the Fifth Wheel Hitch, Eddie? I'm good, on the ground but, as soon as we get to Nevada. "Rattle Snake's"!!! :s012: I just don't want to, wake up with one.

Doh! I was thinking you were leaving the truck at Denver.

That makes sense to bring the truck too.

Are you talking about bringing the trailer the whole distance too?

Pat it would be great if you could afford to come too. You and me could take turns driving Eddies Chally while he drives his truck. :lol2:

Sure Pat there's always room for more! I'm glad you're wife talked you into to it. My wife's demanding I leave! Thats why she's so excited! Anyways we can pick you up anywhere along the way. If you want to fly into St. Louis or Denver it doesnt matter, hell you can even fly into Terre Haute if you wanted that way we could drive non-stop sharing the wheel. Yeah guys we'll have to bring a trailer. If we encounter bad weather for a bit I can put the R/T inside until it subsides. 15 hours to Denver from Terre Haute can be done but that means non-stop. Stops for fuel, bathroom breaks at reststops, it can be done in about 17 I estimate. St. Louis will slow us down a bit, once we get into Kansas it's Flat and straight through to Colorado. The roads there should be clear that time of year right Drew. Kansas&Illinois troopers are unforgiving and I dont have a Radar jammer/detector so 70MPH is Max I think.

Probably very late that evening or early Mon. morn. I estimate 20 hours total time from here to Denver Drew, St. louis will slow us down, fuel stops, draining the lizard ectt  If I had to place a time on it, I would say around midnight or 11:00 PM Sun. evening.
