ok i went to a local car cruise yesterday and i found out that the radio station building used in the movie vp is in green river utah and it is less than 6 hours away from denver,we can get there spend the night there since from that point there is 115 miles of no service in the desert,so we can think our plan from there but it looks like green river will be our first destination ,let me know how you guys feel about this

The Radio Station was in the Grand Hotel in Goldfield.

ok well i need to talk to them again i was a little tired yesterday maybe i mis under stood, anyway it is about the half way point from here,and there some cheap hotels there and maybe we can get some infro from there i also found this

It really doesnt matter Drew. I would rather find a route that has some gas staions/diesel fuel along the way. I'm bringing at least 5, Five Gallon containers with 94 Octane in them to stretch it out for increased distance,(300 miles bewteen fill-ups and I can re-fill both the R/T and the extra fuel cans). I cant afford the 55 Gal. VP fuel drum it's over $550.00 thats over 10.00 bucks a gallon! My R/T consumes fuel like German Tiger II Tank! As long as the cars are driving fine and we can get fuel, I dont care where we end up. I'm gonna leave it up to you guys to acquire any LapTop, Digi-Cam, I-Pod, Strawberry, Rhubarb or whatever they call those things these days,,I do have the Diesel truck wired and configured with a full-time sine wave DC/AC Convertor it makes 750 Watts and has 1000 Peak Watts of AC power to power up any comm devices or appliances. 2-Three Prong 60HZ outlets. Also my truck has an extra power port as well.

Yep. It does not matter where we stop over.
The drive and the company all having a great time are all the really matters.
All I will be worried about is;

1/ Getting enough sleep! I am a real snappy, grouchy bastard if I am stressed or tired.

2/ Getting on the plane home on time!

The drive itself is going to be fantastic I know. This is going to be something I will remember 'till the day I die.
Hopefully that will be some amount of time!

well dave you can sleep and we can drive do you guys want to hotel or camp? hotel will be more restful, camping will be cheaper, i would prefer hotel my self, i will check prices

I can sleep anywhere. And usually do. But I will try not to do it when behind the wheel.

i dont sleep that well sometimes but im sure after a long day i will sleep well, comfort inn 2 queen size beds,$80.00 ramada inn $72.00 holiday inn$110.00 per night,i know we are 3 months or
so from the run im just kinda waiting for jim to get home
.oh btw dave i got the idea from you i have installed a trans cooler as well as an oil cooler,so that wont be an issue,i have some other items on my list if you guys have any suggestions as to what else i might need to do to my car let me know,
i am still not bringing a trailer i will have AAA and hagerty insurance as well as my bro has a trailer,
he towed his big block mustang(my chally weighs about 4oo lbs more ) up to steam boat springs and he has the same truck i have ,a 1/2 ton phord awd 11 mpg ,and he said overall it did well except for the hills,he could only do 40 mph,and it really worked the truck ,on flats he was ok,
but i think if i do break down that bad i will call AAA and have a flat bed tow it home since we wont be that far but that is my plan for now

Thanks for reminding me. I ordered a New Fan belt from Mancini and I think I am gonna get an ECU from Don at FBO and 2 sets of spare NGK's. Anything else?

i plan on gravity bleeding my brake fluid,and yes dave the chances on both cars breaking down and the best pit crew in the world im confident we can do it and have a whole ton o fun

Gravity bleeding works pretty well. I never tried that, until this year. This year, I replaced brake's in everything we own except for the wifes Mazda. God, it's like we have a fleet, or something. Time is getting close for the trip. Whether we camp or stay in motel's, or both, I'm game. Money is short but, that's what plastic is for.

My vote is for some camping and some motel stays.

Eddie, not to worry about the back hair. The state fair is before the trip and they do sheep shearing there.

With Dave along I do not want to look to much like a sheep.

I bought these today,,,Just Incase. Trailer and Challenger spares. The Chally will look funny with the Cop Wheel and Cooper Tire. I have 2 floor Jacks but this is the only one capable of lifting my diesel truck so it's coming too! Next pic should be the R/T being loaded into the 'Den of Inequity" I also have a spare for the truck under the assend so it looks like we are near where we need to be. I also have a spare Fan Belt and ECU, some fusible link, spare sets of NGK's, some 20W-50 Amsoil.

man your ahead of me but i will catch up soon ,looks like we will have enough stuff ,but you never know what can go wrong so we might as well bring alot of extra parts

Yeah Drew it's best to be prepared. "It aint no fun when the rabbit got the gun" Bring plenty of coolers,, I have 2 large ones. Also dont forget the TP& a small shovel. We're civilised and bury ours!

Ok, no peashooters or slingshots! A 10 gauge it is.

I also ordered a new Hal-Guard no residue Fire Extinguisher a 2.5 lb. bottle to keep with the R/T in the backseat and a spare 10 lb. unit for the trailer. I also had to order a reaplcement pistol grip handle for the shifter. This is the original Hurst Unit the Car was made with. It's very loose and the plastic bosses that the screws go into are worn. A new set with screws was 40.00 bucks form GunSlinger. I thought about the carbon Fiber one until I saw the price plus I like the original look. You can see it's worn smooth, there is barely any 'grain' texture left.
