I spoke to Wayne on the phone today and told him about this pic of him and Daveman gettin gigetty with each other and his response was; "who's the daddy?"

I also mentioned bringing both our cars over for 2014 inspired by Roland's effort this year............

I was talkin to a mate of mine who runs containers across the pond on a regular basis, mainly AMD panels.
He reckoned 1500 bucks for the crate charges, his nett costs as a favour to me, but he thought insurance for 2-3 weeks was only a few hundred bucks?

Yes insurance is a bit of an issue and somewhat complicated ,you can yet liability, and coverage for your person ie medical, injury,

but you cant get a total comprehensive coverage for you and the car another words you are covered if you hit some one and their injuries ,but the actual car will not have coverage.

Roland and I spent hours on the phone with various companies and he ended up with Chartis they at least had that coverage for his person and if he hit some one he was covered but his car was not so he went with some risk.

but as far as bringing a car over here from another land they will cover you driving a car from here but not a car from out of the country .........make sense? I know it doesnt and I think it is PURE BS

I talked to this lady from with a thick NY accent from Chartis and she was pretty nice and was able to get something done for Roland :D and now I just found out Chartis is now been bought out by AIG, so look in to it if you are serious and if you have your car delivered to NY and ship it out of Houston consider your drive time and holiday time ,if you use the interstate Hiways NY to Denver 1777 miles ,26 hours Denver to Houston Tx 1200 miles 16 hours,

Gas will be the main cost of this trip toss in another $1500 on the low end to $3500 on the high end lets hope prices stay stable for 2 years

Have you guys looked at the classic car insurers? Hagerty has a visiting international collector program http://www.hagerty.com/Collector-car-in ... collectors. Also this page may be helpful? http://www.hagerty.com/Collector-car-in ... r-coverage
Looking on Grundy's website, Chartis appears as one of their brands
http://www.ehow.com/how_1000423_car-ins ... -visa.html has some answers to int'l drivers in the USA.
Anyway these are a couple of the results of this search I used http://www.bing.com/search?q=Vintage+Ca ... FORM=QSRE4

Yep, I'm still alive. Didn't realize that this topic was still going on :o

Indeed car is back. We did a check and the damage of this whole trip is 2 front tires that might be replaced, horn wire snapped off the copper O-ring and small leekage in steering pump.
Could be worse 8)

I hope my trip can be an example for others; it's doable!
But it will cost you a lot (money, energy, time).
For me it was worth every 'penny' :P

Now busy with creating a film/documentary out of the 700 video takes I made. :?

Re: Vanishing Point Road Trip

one bit of info we need to sort out is ...........where are we going.do you want to visit the V.P. sites we can start in green river ,stay for the nite, Cisco, along the same road we can knock out 3 Moab,Arches, and Bridges National parks,go west to Vegas ,stay the nite go to Goldfield not stay , then go to My Favorite small town Austin and fill up there house, that we can do this in a week or so, (provided everyone does the speed limit),we need to factor in how long the trip from Eds house will take, and who is in on that part of the trip

then I have many weeks left in Cozumel Mexico , to many left to use in my life time, so here is the Deal I have the rooms paid for all suites on the water, I need a maintenance fee to cover their costs not sure about exactly how much but not more than 100 bucks a person ,for the week ,you will need air fare from Denver to Cozumel and then you can fly out of Cancun direct flight to the U.K.

So it is not cast in stone, but any feedback on where and what you want to see we have plenty of options :D

Also it is about a 7 hour drive from Austin Nevada to San Fran ,Cali something to keep in mind :D

We still have time for logistics. I will have 3 seats open for my 72! Wayne & Lorna ,,that leaves 1 seat. Adrian, if you don't ship your car,,you could fly into Terre Haute, IN. 47802 my phone is 1-812-299-2830 call anytime! 4 people in my Challenger is definitely doable! I don't have A/C in the Challenger however, and it will be hot during the daylight hours. We can pull over after a few hours and stretch our legs out,,or we can also take my luxurious Cummins Diesel truck along with the 72 for more space and as a spare chase vehicle or for sleeping, spare parts truck ectt I'm "game"!! You guys/gals will be doing the driving. I'm gonna relax and have fun this time! The 72 will have power steering/ manual brakes so it will be driver friendly. I'll have 2 Carbys set up for reg. and high altitude. Simple swap! Or I might get it Fuel Infected! :s003: ( I already contacted Fast-Man EFI and he has everything I need) 2fuel maps 1 for E-85 the other for pump gas swill)

Yea riding in the back of a chally for long hours, across the midwest ,with no A/C do you really want our foreign friends to suffer that kind of misery?.....ask Wayne he was stuck in the back of my car and the next chance he got he bailed for the truck, I was planning on bringing a swag wagon of some sort just to have another vehicle for luggage, spare parts, and people,

I had no room left when I was all packed , that means there will be no room for the Womens gear,so we will need to think this through , we can also bring my truck and or the Toyota ,so we really dont need to hard road it and just pack the crap out of our cars , that was a bit of an issue on the last trip, there was barely enough room for a passenger , more suggestions needed,I am open :P

Yeah you are right Drew, I forget about my heat tolerance sometimes. I can take 100+ degree heat no problem  The cold, I shrivel up and die  anyways, I plan on taking the Diesel truck,,no trailer I sold it to a Hillbilly that lives in it! My truck has got all the comfort anyone would need, A/C, LapTop, Phone, Garmin ect. We can use it for anyone that wants to take a break from the TTI headers and heat.. So now I can take up to -6-8 people! We could switch vehicles from time to time so people don't get too tired from the "Kowalski Beast"
