"Still my eyes,, with that doublevision" Sweet Picture! I'm sure Roland or you will post a video with the engines running, it's almost eerie how they not only look similar but sound and accelerate the same too!

Yeah me and Diana are going but some of us are including some time at Drew and Lisa's time share in Mexico.
It's going to be expensive so we need to save and that is something we struggle to do if I'm honest.

Yea save ,save ,save flights from the U.K. are around 700 euros and a flight from Denver to Cozumel is about 500 euros,I will cover the hotel in Mexico and we can accommodate a few people here at my house (I hope to have the downstairs ready by then).so save for air fare ,a few meals and a few cheap hotels and 5 k should be ample enough money :D

Ok keep this thread going ,Roland has his car back finally , and I have had my car up on stands for the last month chasing alot of issues ,I r&r the rear diff, put a tube on the axle vent for future track use the old one spewed rear diff oil all over the rear axle tube.

I had to replace the steering box due to leakage ,as well as the p.s. pump leaking.

The k frame cracked so I had some plates welded up for reinforcement.

rebuilt the whole front end,as well as new brakes.

replaced the radiator ,the old aluminum unit had the upper and lower tanks epoxied and that lost its seal so new radiator.

the starter switch failed after only 5 years the contacts failed due to flex in the assembly causing a separation of the plastic body to the pot metal switch, new one on order.

the electric fans had a bad ground causing it to fail right before my eyes :| easy fix

Yes it was a hard trip on the ole chally but now it will be better than ever and ready for the next trip

Well if ever there was a way to shake down a car to find the weak areas then a trip like that was probably the coolest way of doing it. :D

Roland posted these stats on Facebook last night.

Challenger US trip 2012, stats:

Duration: 36 days, 33 driving days
Countries: 2 (USA, Canada)
States: 15 (New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Ontario, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas)

Distance: 8.847 miles = 14.223 kilometers
Distance per day: 268 miles = 431 kilometers
Fuel: 748,512 gallons = 2.783,255 liters
Consumption, avg: 11,8 mpg = 5,1 km/l
Costs: US $ 2.838,50 + CA $ 285,07 + € 99,45 = € 2.555,62
Price, avg: US $ 4,295 per gallon, CA $ 1,468 per liter, € 1,695 per liter
Overall price, avg: € 0,91 per liter

He must mean 748 gallons I would think?

Everyone except Australians :s004: Actually AFAIK anyone is welcome. A car would be a big plus but you could arrange a ride with someone if there is room. One of the board members brought his Challenger over and it looks like he had a blast! Or renting a new Challenger could be an option ($$).
The thing that has kept me from going is the $$$ needed (Had/have lots of bills).

Edited to add that the trip is on only if civilization as we know doesn't end later this week

I'd been watching Rolan's updates on Facebook. Jealous was an understatement.

I'm not flush with cash, but given that it's 2 years away, that should give me enough time to put away some decent money. Riding shotgun would be cool, but I would love to do it in my own car.

Start by simply looking up flights just to get and idea how much you need then plan on spending about $150.00 per day plus or minus and if you can scrape the wedge to bring your car over here cool , but you can always drive mine ,so do some research and I bet the world is still here as we know it............even two years from now............or we only have a days left till ...................... :s005: :!: :?: :s001: :s007:   :|
