AC Compressor Bracket Modification

Postby cv70chall » 02 Dec 2011 14:03

After deciding where the justification was for paying $180-$200 for a custom compressor bracket for my Chally, we opted for trying to modify the original factory compressor bracket that held the VG2 unit. By changing out the 500lb (feels like it) original compressor for a smaller more efficient Sanden style, we shed some pounds and I'll be able to drive this thing during the Florida summer.
Here are some pix of the modification.

We're using a Rallye Hood, so we've got that extra height. The air cleaner/ filter wasn't on with this photo, and it's roughly 1 inch or so higher than the compressor.
So far ,so good.
