Very good. Did you get the foam in a kit or cut them yourself? Not to nitpic but isn't the fan motor suppose to be a silver plating look?

Maby the fan motor should be in silver, but I don't build my car as from the factory I build my car as I want to have it.
My car is a base car and it is already cloned as a R/T car.
I bought the foam kit from

The sell wery good parts so I really recomend to buy from him if you are searcing for gasket and foam

I read in Challenger Restoration Guide that the fan motor should be painted in Semi-Gloss Black and it is that color I have used.

Thanks for the info and yes it is your choice for sure just wanted to help on the restore.
Mine appears to be silver for some reason.
This is how it looked when I got the car in 1976.

I don't see the heater blower motor on that pics the only motor I see on that pics it is the wiper motor and that motor should be gold plated from the factory.

The plating used on the 3-speed wiper motors is called Zinc Dichromate...sometimes called yellow zinc.
The blower motors in 70 and 71 were plated in silver zinc. The factory replacement motors were black. I'm not sure about 72 but I know that in 73-74 the factory motors came black. In 70-71 though, all factory issue motors were zinc plated.
Black looks just fine on the blower motor. If your not going for a factory correct look, then spray it black and spend your money on other things.IMO

I just completed mine yesterday and I'm pleased with the results. I purchased the kit from Jim at Detroit Muscle and it was perfect! All the parts fit well and the reassembly went smoothly.
