This housing is kinda pricey for a housing, but i have had some leaking/seepage issues for what ever reason, i have flat filed both surfaces and cleaned, and assembled the housing ,and always seemed to get a small amount of seepage, now i have solved my problem, with this unit, it has an o -ring, to seal it,and it is thick enough so it wont warp, and it is aluminum, so it matches the temp. / look of aluminum about $50.00 usd, also did a local cruise last night in traffic and no leaks

I will be using the same kind Drew! The o-ring seal is one of the best types of seal I think. Chrome never did seal worth a damn. I remember using a set of old edelbrock chrome valve covers on my 340 and they always did leak. Thanks for posting that Drew. Your car looks very sinister in the dark.

I cant speak for Drew's housing but www.440source.com/waternecks.htm sells a version of the billet Big Block Mopar stat housing for a very reasonable price. 24.95

yeah, those thermo housings are the best. Nice thick base, no warping. i had one, now sorry that i sold it attached to an engine. But the O ring seal only works properly on a dead smooth surface with no pitting.

One of the best amateur pics of a 70 Chal i have seen- pity its is a bit blurred- maybe the light factor? I'm not a huge fan of large diameter modern wheels on the 70's cars, but yours look quite good. Its not so much the style that i don't like but the thin bead of rubber - i like the older cars to have the tyres showing - but then again, i'm "old school" !
