Heater Box Removal

Postby Trep01 » 02 Mar 2008 23:21

Hello, I'm new to the forum...just purchased a '73 Rallye with 27,000 miles on it; the car was garaged for the last 18 years and it's in great shape but she's tired. I've pulled the engine and trans and I've rebuilt the 340 and the tranny has been rebuilt professionally. I need to pull the heater box and would like some feedback from anyone who has pulled a box before. I've purchased a detailed service but it really doesn't go into much detail on how to pull. Other than the three bolts holding the the blower moter to the firewall, are there any other fasteners? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thats all that held mine in. I think there was supposed to be another one near the cowl vent connection. Take your time, the fiberglass is likely fragile and looking for a reason to break.

It's easy. The bolts on the bulkhead and one on a strap under the dash on my 70 with AC (don't know if others are the same or not)
