Will a 73 a/c evaporator fit in a 70?

Is a condenser and an evaporator the same thing? :?

Yearone sells two of these for E-Bodies.
One for 70-71 and another for 72-74.
So I would say no, a 73 will not fit a 70.

I think the evaporator goes in the a/c box like a heater core, condencer goes in front of radiator.

If it is the heater core you are thinking of, then the answer is YES.
1970-1974 e-bodies used the same part number: 3441180. (Paul Herd and Year One catalog)

Yes the evaportater sits next to the heater core under the dash. The condenser sits in the cold air in front of the radiator. Here is what I took out of my 1970 Chally. A page from the service manual helps too.
You can see the two units side by side.
