71' Challenger Air Conditioning

Does anyone have a schematic they can post that will help me in re-hooking up the Air Condition in my 71'? Some previous owner removed everything from the fire wall forward but appears to have left everything under the dash.

You posted this under 'electrical'. Is it an electrical schematic you need? I don't think there is much of an electrical side to the air con. It is mostly plumbing as I recall.

The schematic/diagram I need may include some electrical as well as the "plumbing" for the A/C unit but it was not my intention to post this under electrical - didn't notice I was in this category when I wrote the posting!

Ah! I meant to have a look see at what is in the manual last night but was distracted by the fact I got my faulty wipers (second time around!) working again.

I will have a look tonight.

Seeing as there was no obvious place for you to post this I created a new subtopic and moved it here.

Is this the sort of thing you were after?

Bear in mind that this is for a 1970 car.

Dave,
Do you have a schematic for all the vacuum hoses and wiring under the dash for the ac system?
Thanks, Mike

The workshop manual has all that stuff in it but spread right through a whole section. Not just schematics and descriptions for each circuit of the vacuum system but also drawings of the hose routing etc and the electrical control circuit diagram. I have the 1970 manual but you are talking over 50 pages and I can't reproduce them all here. Your best bet is to buy a Factory Workshop Manual in CD format from one of the online suppliers. Just Google "workshop manuals on cd".

I just picked up a hard copy of a '71 fsm for $47 usd shipped from Ebay.
Already have a CD version but I prefer the paper copy for setting next to you while working.

I print off the sections I need. Then it does not matter if they get covered in oil or torn.
I also blow up any diagrams I am working to such as the head bolt torque sequence so I can tape it over the engine as I work. Things like the torque settings I have blown up and posted on the wall for easy reference.

Yes the CD versions are very handy.
