WATER/HEATER VALVE

Postby cv70chall » 17 Aug 2015 17:41

Does anyone have the proper layout/ installation configuration for the water/ heater valve?
I am getting hot air venting into the cabin even with the control lever all the way to the left position- which should be correct for cool.
Could the valve not be closing properly? Defective?

Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this?

Thanks everyone!

More likely is the cables are flexing and not pushing the lever far enough over, take em off, lube them up nice and work em by hand 'til they are well loose.
Could make all the difference.
You can always pl the valve by hand and see if it makes any difference.

Hey Adrian,

Nice to hear from ya! The cable pushes the valve assembly forward and back- depending on whether you want it colder or hotter in the cabin. I believe forward is for COOLER, and the cable seems to move quite freely- but I still get some "hot air" venting into the cabin while driving.
I just want to know if there is a true way to actually test the valve itself.

Seems it's moving freely enough then Chuck.
The valve should close off completely cos even a slight flow will put heat in the matrix.

Take the valve out & operate it by hand with a loop of heater hose attached to it, just gravity will do
