Engine Numbers, C440 HP2

Hi,

The engine in my Challenger has stamped on the front of it "C440 with a 4 then a 6 followed by HP2 underneth the C440"
Anyone know what this all means?

I was told by the seller that it was a warrenty replacement engine but that it was not year correct...maybe a 68 or 69 model?
