Unusual Fender Tag Codes

I am buying a 71 Challenger and just received photo of fender tag and it has some codes that do not seem correct, maybe I am wrong. Please help. The transmission code is D36, most all Torque Flite codes I have seen on Challenger R/Ts and Cudas are D32. Another code that is on the tag that I can not ever remember seeing is B41, which is front disc brakes. Most 70-71s with power brakes have B51 and even if it has ft discs, the code B41 is not on the tag. The VIN on this car is JS23H1Bxxxxxx. It is a N96 coded car according to the fender tag, and I would like to be sure it is not a reproduction tag, because if it is a true N96 car, it would be very rare, supposedly only 39 340 cars had the N96 Shaker option. the trim code is P5XX, which I can not find in any reference material, could it be a miss stamp? Thanks in advance. Dana

Going by this and your other thread on the trim codes I would say this was a very badly done fake tag.
Any chance of you posting the photo of the tag so we can see?

A clear photo would help for sure.
Based on what you have noted in both posts, the tag sounds like a fake to me also.

what are the indicators that the tag is fake, wrong codes, the TX9 where 000 should be? Anything else?

It is not something I discuss, to put those kind of details in a public forum would help any "faker" make fake tags that are harder to detect.
Whoever did this one was worse than most though, there are a lot of errors / guesses.

Oh dear me.
Have you paid any money up front? The car might still be worth having as a clone. Suitably priced of course.

I did give a deposit, but the seller says he has other buyers for the car in the mid forties. It is a beautiful car, but without the broadcast sheet and a fake fender tag, how much can it be worth? If I knew it was a factory shaker car, I wouldnt hesitate.
