Challengers in Europe

Postby RedRaven » 03 Jan 2008 13:06

Anybody know how many Challengers were bought in Europe initially from Dodge?

I think my 72 may have been purchased from Dodge in Belgium back in the day..Ive yet to confirm this.

Nope. Never any E-bodies sold new here as such.

There were some '73 Barracudas sold here known as the "Kingston Cudas". But these were not actually new cars.

They were imported from S.Africa if I remember right from some deal that had gone wrong there and although they were unsold cars and not used they were already a year or two old when sold here. I think there were about 6 of them or something?

There was a thread on the MMA board about them a while ago.

Edit. My mistake. There were eight of these built for export to Tenerife but eventually sold in London.

Come to think of it I don't think it was possible for Chrysler to sell new left hand drive cars here. Or anyone. They have to be right hand drive.

Only small specialists are able to import and sell American and other left hand drive cars.

Really...Well I know about the higher safety spec for euro sales but I didnt know about the lefty thing...Does Allkiller on MMA own one of those Cudas...his is a 73 right...

Speaking of Cudas....I still think of when you told me you were just shy of a couple of hundred quid for that HEMICUDA in the early eighties...wow imagine if you had of bought that....

...come to think of it that would be great for you but suck for us...

If you bought that then I wouldnt have gotten to know you and Eddie and the boys...I mean think about it Dave no hassle no heart ache...and no nightmares about me and Eddie coming to the the Nats and making a holy show of you!! :s006:  :s003:

There was one of those Kingston Cudas for sale on the MMA board recently. Guy owns a yellow 340 one.
