Body codes? I'm not sure what you mean!

727 has blank pad, but it match the rest of the cars parts dat,
PK 3410668 L "2901" 4161
I think it's correct trans for the car, it seems to be very early car.

I just checked with my club historians.

This car was indeed assembled in Poissy.

Order number was 536, ordered May 13th, 1969.

This order was cancelled (as were 16 or 18 orders that year, but the car had already been shipped from the US and were delivered nonetheless).

Metallic Grey, black interior.

Ordered May 13th, 1969, wow! It explains it's lack of woodgrain inserts in doorpanel and many other "goofy" parts/ things.

It's hard to find fact's about those "france made" like a "greyzon".

You don't find anything about the "S" and " Y " in that TYPE "cod" ??

fbernard, thank you very much!

About the missing woodgrain inserts: It is not very unusual. My car is missing them and I know several other cars who also are missing them. My idea is that many (most of them? all?) early non-R/T cars came without them.

"Ordered May 13th, 1969, wow!"

Not possible. The 1970 model year did not begin until August 1, 1969.

Could they have been orderd before the model came out?

A lot were cancelled. Was this due to the amount of time before delivery?

Perfectly possible here.

No car was client-ordered, all were ordered by Simca (aka Chrysler-France), probably while the Chrysler management from the US held them at gunpoint (try to imagine selling these cars in non-NATO European countries back then).

If I remember correctly, there were 2 separate order batches for 1970. This order is the second and largest (18 cars i believe), which was cancelled (don't know why), and delivered nonetheless. It is likely that most of these cars were sold new in other countries (Simca probably managed to place some of them where they believed they could be sold).

I imagine the dealer brochures and all were perfectly ready by May...

Apossible thought is at this is a "pilotcar" for the french "assambleline"

First it has travling with boat for maybe 4/5 week's, then they shoud paint and assamble a brand new car they never seen befor, it take time.
If the dealer shoud have " the new Challenger "in the showroom in time, they most have very early cars to start with.

I base that on early parts dat from my car.

For an example:

Hoodhinge Dat "1259"

Power steering pump Dat "1189"

Carter 4736s Dat "G9"

"Hoodhook" safety catch handle Dat "1919"

Please! don't kill me now. it's just my 5 cents of worth!

The dealership brochures were typically sent out in late July / early August for the new models.

Does anyone have any paperwork for any of these cars showing a May 1969 order date? If so, I would love to see it.
