Decoding an unknown tag!

Postby Chuck_Key » 27 Feb 2006 19:05

I found a tag belonging to my 72 Challenger in the centre console! There's a few code numbers on it, but it doesn't seem to match anything I've looked at either on here or elsewhere on the net :(

I guess the trouble is, I don't know if it's an engine stamp, body tag, option tag, or whatever! All I know is it isn't the VIN (that's JH23G2B223595 and is in the correct place) Any help thrown my way would be appreciated!

The tag is rectangular with oval ends and is about 3 inches long by 1 inch high. What looks like a single hole for mounting is at one end. The numbers are thus:

3594920-9

61052 3001

301 000 2AB M

as written on the tag. BTW the engine is a 383 from some other car/year.

It may be a tag for the interior trim:

I think it details options for the seat trim, color, leather/cloth etc.

Aha! Although it's not the same shape or colour, some of the numbers appear similar. That could well be it! Cheers :P

Both of my front seats have tags inside attached to the springs. My Challenger is a 70, they look more like "dog tags" and are behind the seat backs.
