The Dodge Challenger Message Board

Does anyone know anything about this car apart from what the VIN tells us, location of build sheet, former owners??? Anything??? I would appreciate it very much. Also when people say their car is eg; 3 of 16 built with X options how do I find out how many cars are the same as mine??

Your build sheet is most likely under the rear seat, but it sometimes can be found in the drivers seat, on the glove box, under the headliner, and even under the carpet. As for the previous owners, try the DMV or start calling the previous owner, so he can tell you the owner before him and so on. Finally, by looking in a production numbers codebook, you can find out that your car is 1 of XXXX 70 Challenger R/T 383 auto or manuals, anything more than that such as the color breakdown you will have to enlist Galen Govier (*cough* ripoff *cough*).

Even GG is only playing with stats when it comes to how many cars may have had any particular option. There is NO WAY you can say how many cars had a combination of options. Chrysler never kept those stats and it is impossible to work out from the stats available.

Please note the Los Angeles assembly plant is where this car was assembled. Build sheets were habitually left out of the cars at this plant and if you have one from there, you have just won the vintage MOPAR lottery.
