fender tag says v21 all i can get is, performance hood treatment. is this hood black out or center of hood scoops stripe, or just the rally hood, which i thought was j54. here is why i ask. car is 70 chall rt/se go-mango with white vinyl top and white butt stripe, and looks great. yes tag shows v1w and v9w but wouldnt a black hood look like spit next to a white roof and butt stripe on an orange car? i mean it shows on the tag yet i could understand if original owner had it removed. anyway ,someone got a v21 on their car? thanks tooch

Yup, that would be the hood blackout treatment. It was only available in black. It helped with glare from the paint, here is a photo of one on my '71.

thanks barry, look, wasnt there available a totally blacked out , flat paint lookin ,hood? i thought that was black out ?anyway i would love to make this paint right but man, i dont think i can put that hood next to white vinyl. any opinion on the look?. btw i sent you info on this car last nite. still looking for build sheet. ps if anyone has info or pics of this car i would like to hear from you.. Well, the only totally blacked out Challenger hood was the T/A hood, it was optional on other Challengers but that is not what your car is coded for. The V21 option is a large black vinyl decal that goes over the center section of the J54 hood as shown in the photo. They look great even on white stripe / top cars in my opinion.
