R/T SE big block convertible?

I recently came across a 70' challenger convertible with an original 440. The owner has had it since new and did a recent restoration in the original triple black. The wierd part is that he says it is a factory r/t se, and with his mopar knowledge and the quality of resto I just figured it for true at the time. I know the car is rare as a big block conv. but I haven't been able to find anything saying that a r/t se version was ever built? I haven't been able to get the vin number yet, and will post it as soon as I do, till then can anyone give me any info on this car? Rarity and value?
Thanks

I think this guy take you for a ride!
In the SE edition was the "Formal roof package A 78" the main change.
From the 1970 assy group price list:

FORMAL ROOF PACKAGE A 78 $ 127,50
(N.A. convertible) N.A. w/Rear Window Louver Package Code A 44
* Vinyl roof (must code)
* Small Rear Window (Available in group only)
* Formed Headlining
* Functional, Overhead Consolette

Production figures is hard to find and never 100% but this is what I have for R/T convertible and SE with 440" engine:
JS27U0B R/T Convertible 440”
4 Speed 34
Auto 129
JS27V0B R/T Convertible 440” sixpack
4 Speed 61
Auto 38
JS29U0B R/T SE 440”
4 Speed 142
Auto 733
JS29V0B R/T SE 440” sixpack
4 Speed 135
Auto 161

SE edition on the "basic version" = JH29 has no recorded production figures.

Hope that you got something out of it, please let us know if you find anything more about that car, like VIN.

Regards
PeO

There is no such thing as a SE convertible.

What it may have is Moulding Group A (A63) which was a trim package that came standard on the SE.

Included in this package are;
Belt moulding, front splash pan scoop, cowl moulding, rear Astrotone-painted applique.
