Can't say I've seen a code for houndstooth, but my guess is it would be H5XX what ever color your interior is after the H5.

Either:

H5B5
H5F8
H5K4
H5X9

I will have to look that one up. Cannot remember seeing it but I must have it somewhere.

Later.

Our friend in New Zealand is right. :D

The prefix H5 was for a vinyl seat with cloth inserts. You did not get a choice on the cloth (this was what I was checking for) so the rest of the code was for the color of the vinyl on the seat which would match the rest of the interior.

There were four different H5 interiors available in Challengers in 1970, here is a picture of the samples in my trim book. From top left, clockwise they are; H5F8 - Green, H5B5 - Blue, H5K4 - Burnt Orange, H5X9 - Black.

1970 H5 Challengers also came with carpeted lower door panels like the SE.

1971 had a different cloth pattern and at least one color code was different, black became H5XX.

T/Ake care,
Barry

Well, I goofed that up. The colors in my description are not entirely clockwise. I think you know which is which though.

My flash really washed out the colors as well, the samples are quite vibrant.

Here is a good picture of a H5B5 bucket seat, this is from a 1970 Challenger T/A.
