Hi all,

According to the previous owner, the car is all original and wasn't modified since it was delivered.

I have seen lots of threads about the A66 code but this car has all of the advertised options described in the '70 dealer documentation including the 'Scat Pack' decals on the rear windows. It has a console and a 4-speed pistol grip gearbox.

The R/T embelms were not added later (according to the same person). It's quite strange but who knows ?

If I correctly read the datas at the beginning of this thread, only 1'830 of them were built (2'819 from another source - http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=100). Maybe the A66 code will get some more attention in the future.

Other figures anyone ?

If this is the car I think it is, and I'm almost positive that it is, it was on eBay back in late May of 2002. The auction claims the car had been restored. I'm guessing that's when the emblems, wheel lip moldings and the red bumble bee stripe were added. The car was in Sherman Oaks California. I won't post the last 6 digits of your VIN, but you can PM them to me if you want me to confirm it is the same car. It reached a high bid of 19,900 but didn't meet reserve.

Yes, that's what it is. The A66 package as well as the A53 (Trans Am) package deleted these items and since it was not a standalone option on Challengers (it was standard equipment) there was no code on the order sheet to add them back.

I would think they were added afterwards. They were standard on R/Ts. But there were no 340 R/Ts in 1970.

Has to be the same car. Even the tires are the same type.

It is positively the same car. If you look sharply at the right rear light, one can see a small crack. It's still there as you can see below. Can't wait until Friday when the car will be delivered.

Hi every 1,,yes mopar did give their final production in percentages,but if you do the math , more often than not it works out.
On the 71 sheets ,it lists the total above ( 3907 ) and say what ever option said there was 10 % ,well do the math and it does work out..

This is how they kept track of what options were selling,,So they option the challengers that were sent to the dealerships ( salesbank cars )
If they knew plum crazy cars were selling ,then they would build fc7 cars,,here in Canada they knew what kind of cars were selling the best in certain provinces..In alot of cases if purple cars were selling in the west ,they would get a few more fc7 cars.

In Fact I can tell you for fact that in Canada they kept track of what sold in certain provinces,,such as sunroofs..true..

On the U S reports , can also tell you say 70 r/t 383 4 sd with 355 gears and so on...not just r t models
I have alot of facts on Canadian shipments for 70-71 challenger and cudas.. you woud be amazed .

Sometimes the numbers (percentages) only include USA shipped cars. Sometimes they include Canadian as well. Non of them seem to take much account of cars exported to other countries.

The only cars I know of where we know the exact numbers are the Canadian shipped Hemis. I have a list of every VIN number.
