Actually, it would have been assembled on January 9th, 1973, not 1974

To confirm your suspicion, Dave, the C does mean built to Canadian specs.

Ooops! Slip of the brain Jack!

Could you remind me of something else while we are on this subject? I have forgotton how you can tell if a Challenger is a 73-74 Rallye or not. I just cannot think what it is!

Look for a J54 on the fender tag - it is the sport hood code. You can't tell by the VIN in 73 and 74.

But the Rallye package was more than the sport hood so I would expect some sort of package code. I can't remember ever seeing one though.

So how did they know on the assembly line to fit the dummy scoops on the side, the stripes that go with them and a Rallye cluster?

Any thoughts?

				>>>V7X - PAINTED BLACK ACCENT STRIPES (I NEED A PHOTO OF THIS FOR MY WEB SITE!!!)
Unfortunately previous Canadian owner repaint it into Hemi Orange, so all stripes disappeared.
Maybe somebody else have photo of these stripes?
I want to go back to original color and look.
Thanks for translation
Jarek

This is the only image I have of what I think is V7X. It is not a very clear photo but it looks like it is gloss black and is like the T/A stripe only full length.

Ah Ha! Thanks for the package code tip. In 1973 and 1974, the Rallye Package was given the code A57 and it included the Sport hood, Black grille, Simulated fender louvers, HD suspension, Rallye instrument panel - type 7, Longitudinal sport (strobe) stripes, and F70x14" white sidewall tires.

Thats the same paint scheme on my car, except for the main body color is medium to light royal blue, or a color close to that, and few breaks in the stripes on the front fender just before the doors. I think it would look a bit more attractive with a ducktail spoiler though, and T/A hood.
