If you do a key word-search and use the figure ´100015´, you will find some information.
When in august was your car built?
(I have no idea about the name of the paper)

The three lowest that I have heard of so far are 100015, 100019 and 100022. 100022 is the Diamante / Yellow Jacket show car.

Funny you say that, Mine has a Column shift Bucket seat option!!! lol!!! What are the odds. Do you have any number on how many of these were made? I know there was a handful of AAR's made and 4 T/A's.
Mine is a 1970 Challenger R/T 440 Magnum #'s macthing, I have been looking for some numbers on these cars with column as there are rare and there is no way of knowing because you can't tell by looking at the Fender or VIN.

Cheers, once again your "odd" optioned car looks great, please stay column! :D

Here's my baby:

You had to have column shift with the optional bench seat and they charged you extra for the hassle of doing it. Column with buckets is VERY odd though if both the shifter and seats are coded on the build sheet and are therefore original to the car.

Yip, C55, and nooooo C16. And there is no code available for telling you if you had column, Console hasn't got one either but you can tell because it will have C16+C55, and they never made consoles for putting things on etc only to store the shifter, unless console delete but you cant mount a column on the floor lol!!!! :D

There must be a code for column shift on the build sheet?

I'm not sure, you'd think so......there is a guy on this thread with the column shift, I wonder if he has a build sheet? He'd then be able to tell us.
Theres definitely nothing on the Fender  Annoying but I can't do anythng about it. I'm hoping Galen might be able to put some light on it, not for an 100% fact type answer maybe just some info on the column cars would be nice, that is if he even gets back......

If there is not a trans code for column shift I think the steering column code on the build sheet (see example below) would point to a different steering column.

Sorry mate, hope this doesn't come off sounding to dumb, what number am I looking for, the first 3 or 4 digits in the steering column line?
If so do I see what the number is on my column and if it doesn't match this one it's correct? :?:

I just don't know. I can see that the middle digits (X9) are the paint colour code for it.

The sheet shown is for a 1970 440+6. Under steering column it says 255X97000.

I have another sheet here for a 1970 hemi. Under steering column it has 215X91005.

The only real difference between the two cars is the 440 is an automatic and the hemi is a 4-speed.

So what the numbers mean is a mystery to me.

Hmmmm interesting, I'll have to check mine.........

Oh and both cars have the same steering wheel.

If the car is coded for an automatic, then only two shifters were available, either the column shift, or console shift slapstick. The console had a sales code, C16. The column shift did not have a seperate sales code.

Column shift was available with either the bench seat, or bucket seats, but no console was available with the bench seat.

So, sometimes the absence of a code will tell you what the car came with / without. In this case, presence of a code for an automatic transmission coupled with the absence of the C16 code denotes a column shift automatic.

Another way to tell if the car is column shift is the front seat. If it is coded for a H4xx interior, the only shifter available in a h4xx car is column shift.

I hope this helps?

Cheers mate I found out that it is definitely a column shifted car, C55 and NO C16. :D Bucket seats with a column shift. 8) But it has a bench seat in there now as thats how I got it and will keep it that way until I decided to go back to original, the only thing thats not correct is the Bright White paint and the bench seat. :D The bench seat isn't as comfy but more purpose for that empty space. 8)

Cheers mate.

Hey there is is Dave with the Column shifted bench seat FK5 Challenger
i do have the build sheet. the steering column code is 251 X9 7105 if this helps

PostPosted: 07 Mar 2004 2:12

7105 is the last four digits of the actual part number of 3467 105,
but I can not find a refference for 251. X9 is black though.

...the HEMI RT/SE used to draw quite a crowd of onlookers at a show, the car is beyond beautiful, but the Vin # also drew LOTS of attention....it still belongs to the guy I sold it to (smarter than me)and he lives in Pawley Island the last I knew

...if I remember right, #19 was also a Pilot car and was a Yelo 440 Six Pak ....mine was #15 and I had a guy show me pictures of what he claimed was #13....it was a white/white/white convertible with a 318 I think....the car was a major pile of rust and it was questionable if it could even be saved.....I honestly don't remember if the car had a fender tag/doccumentation or not, it has been a lot of years ago...

...#13...white convertible I mentioned above, no solid doccumentation, just my memory

...#14 never found it

...#15, HEMI RT/SE, had a build date of August 1, 1969, oldest known restored/driveable Challenger in the world

...#16/#17/#18...never showed up either

...#19, Yelo 440 Six Pak

...the picture of the HEMI RT/SE with the corn behind it was shot on a little road behind my house....today, I take hundreds of pictures of every car I own, but I have very few of the HEMI, (pre digital)...thanx guys for the shots of her...most of the photo work done thru the years was by Nicky Wright, Anders Odeholm(Sweeden) and Phil Kunz

I used to own 100019 from 1989 to 2000. It was a 440 sixpack automatic car. I sold it ,and later saw it up for auction at Barrett Jackson in Phoenix. It appeared to be restored, but not correctly. Whoever owned it added the hood black out stripe, added rocker mouldings. Wrong color center caps, wrong placement of decklid nameplates. It made me wish I never sold it. Maybe someone else will correct these mistakes in the future. It was a pilot car. It had a "JOB 164" stamped on the body tag. I was told that only pilot cars had a job number. It was Top banana with a black vinyl top. It had power windows, six way seat, and the salt & pepper houndstooth interior (Buckets w/console). I always figured whoever ended up with it would contact me for any history on the car. So far nobody has contacted me. I was the third owner of this car and knew both of the previous (original) owner(s). I know the history of this car since the day it was purchased at a Dodge dealer after Dodge was done using it for whatever they used it for.
