They sound like option codes from the fender tag?

Don't tell me you didn't knew what he meant Ted!
H6X9 = Black vinyl interior trim
VX7 = ??
GY3 = Yellow gold exterior
Post your full tag Glenn, then I'm sure somebody else can help you with the VX7 code

I cannot stress enough the importance of the position of the code on the tag. Just where it is tells you what it is. Have a look at this and you will see what I mean.
http://www.challenger440.pwp.blueyonder. co.uk/cgi-bin/disc/show.cgi?tpc=6&post=5 873#POST5873 The tag is slightly different from 1972 though.
Also read the other tag examples and the comments with them.
You will see two of these codes on the other examples in this section of the board. H6X9 is black vinyl bucket seats. GY3 is a paint code (if it is in the right place on the tag) which you can find by going to the correct page on my web site for the year of your car and look for the link to the color chart with the list of paint codes.
The VX7 has me stumped though.

Thanks heres the full tag r26 vx7 26 en2 m31 m42 m44 n41 n42 c55 g11 h51 j78 j81 m21 u a45 a46 b51 c16 gy3 h6x9 000 a12 018177 e55 d32
I don't know what the u stands for either. the vx7 accent stripe was that just a plain black stripe? I have decoded most of the vin its just the few that I have listed that have me stumped.

Glenn. PLEASE read the other threads in this section. See how the others have written out the tags? Unless you write out the tag as it looks in real life line by line then it is VERY hard to make sense of. You will also see things like the U which stands for USA ordered. It also means your car is a 72-74 model whch again is kinda important to know when trying to de-code these things.
Tags are read from the bottom line UP. If you read the other examples on here you will see what I mean.

I'll bet it has a painted roof as well, since I don't see a roof code in that string - Glenn, even a repeated code means something different each time because of its location.

My mistake. It must have been 71 they started using the 'U' code. I can never remember any of this stuff of the top of my head so I don't understand why I try?
GY3 is the paint alright. It had a painted roof too which is why that code is on twice. Aerodynamic spoiler package too. Nice.
I don't know what that A46 was though. I have not seen that on a Challenger before that I can remember (yeah like I would be able to remember!).

The A46 is the molding group however I do not know which moldings they included in that group. Maybe the wide hood molding as they didn't have a code apart for this option as far as I'm aware?

Todd - would you check that N93 again? It's not listed as an option code for the 1974 model year. Also, I have a new 72-74 book so I am once again able to answer questions about those years accurately.

Jack,
I looked at the tag again, and it might be n95, there is a screw that obscures the number. I can email a photo, but I don't know how to make it 300 x 300 or smaller.

Thanks, Jack! My friends at summit racing shipped several large boxes to me, many of which said " non-egr". Wonder what I'll do....
