I got some retractable front belts to replace the ones in my 72 but the ones I got appear to have two retractable coil mounts? Is there a different belt for 72 on cars? I haven't tried to bolt em up yet but it looks like the static belt that goes from the roof mount and over the shoulder is replaced with a retractable mount

  is it that straight forward?

I took my original ones off to fit modern 3point retractible belts, but I can't remember if the shoulder one was retractable beforehand (don't think so) - I can try to locate the old belts from wherever I slung them in the garage if you want?

The retractable shoulder belts came on 74's only. The shoulder belt retractor mounts behind the rear interior panels(next to the back seat) If those are the belts you have, you'll need to cut holes in your interior panels to get them to work.
