Rear Headliner Cardboard Sections

Postby cv70chall » 20 May 2011 14:30

I've decided to replace these, as one of them apparently got wet and the other one is ready to disintegrate.
Any ideas on where I might be able to get these pieces?

Thanks

The cardboard sail panels that go underneith the headliner are available new but you don't nessesarily need them. I bought a reproduction set from Dante's Parts but later found out that 73's didn't use them. They are still sitting on the shelf.

You can save yourself a few bucks and not even use them if you want to. The headliner gets stretched tight and you can't see them anyway.

You can have mine for what I bought them for...I think $21 but it would take a big box to ship them in.

My '72 did'nt have them either, and I know I was the first person to get under the headliner, so pretty certain they were never installed

On the 1970 & 1971 models they were used to help prevent a ladies high heel shoes from puncturing the headliner during throes of ecstasy during back seat activities.

Oh I dunno.

Mind you. I did hurt the top of my head on the rear window winder in my 4-door Hillman Avenger once.
It hurt so bad it put me off my stroke a bit.

At times, I long for my youth again.

At other times, I am glad they are over & I survived.

I love the Challengers, I do. But an A-body Barracuda with the fold down rear seat does have a lot of room with a view of the night sky built in.........

A question loaded with that much innuendo must go unanswered.
