Headliner bows

Does anyone know when the switch was made for '71s from the five bow headliner to the four bow headliner?

Generally, I think 1970 is refered to as the only year for a 5 bow. Some early 71 could have come with 5 bows too though. What is your SPD?

Everything I've read points to '71 having 4 or 5 bows, so it appears that the change was made in '71 sometime but not sure when. My in'laws don't remember if our '71 was a 4 bow or 5.
SPD?

SPD= scheduled production date.

Early cars could have come with 5 bows. If you car was built in 71 instead of the end of 1970, then I'm almost positive you would have had 4 bows. The SPD would be on the fender tag. You can also look on the door sticker to see when the car was built.

Thanks, I knew SPD but had a brain fade when reading. :oops:
I was asking b/c when I was looking for bows last year some places (don't recall which ones) stated that '71s could be four or five bow. What you're saying makes sense but doesn't really answer my question. I know Ma Mopar used parts until they were gone before using new model year parts.
Just trying to see if anyone knows the approximate changeover date, not the build date.
