are you talking about the bezel? if so they are slightly different i will check back later if this doesnt help the 70 bezel has 2 holes in it for clock adjuster and for the odometer, the 71 bezel has the holes at the bottom of the gauge

yes the black around the gauges is the main part of the panel that holds the gauges in place the wood grain is an overlay on a piece of aluminum

Yes there are 2 different dash styles, the grooved one and the smooth one. I don't know what pieces you are trying to get together. There are 3 plastic dash pieces. Well, 4. The dash bezel with the holes in it, the switch panel with headlight, wiper, etc, the radio bezel, and the bezel with heater/ac controls. I had mix-and-match grooved and smooth pieces in mine, and they fit fine with one another.

I have a bezel for the gauges that is grooved and will match your switch bezel. If you are interested, PM me and we'll work something out. I do not have the bezels for the radio or the heater/ac, though.

The "Kit"? Where would you find such a kit?
On ebay, for $1000 for a rallye dash w/gages in decent condition?

$2700 dollars?!?!?!
Do you want rallye gages that badly? Like I said, decent ones can be had on ebay for 600-800. Or if you want a regular dash, not a rallye, maybe 50 bucks.
Making your own is VERY time consuming. I'm in the middle of that now.

I think that looks really nice.
What about the matching door inserts and center console though? The console will be tough to do if your car has one.

Just use the moulded shape in the door panel as the template. It needs to fit exactly into that shape.

That red cedar looks really nice. There shouldn't be any bugs in your car if you use the cedar.........I haven't seen a Challenger with all real wood in the interior.......sounds like a good idea.

On the 1970 Non-Rally dash, does anyone have a diagram (Hamtranck?) that can show me EXACTLY how many panels make up the underside and sides of the dash?
I have the left side (corner piece), underside (map light panel) and want to know if I need the opposite right side (corner piece) and anything else?
I've been told that the 70 Challenger did not have that right side corner piece- ??????
Thanks
