E-body seat stitchings?

Postby Moparman1972 » 28 Jun 2008 0:53

This is a post on an ad site for e body seats. I dont recognize the stitching, they look like B body seats. What I found most interesting was the mention of a heater for the drivers seat. I've never heard of a heated seat option on e bodies, maybe the b bodies? Hmmm..

I am not sure if that is an original pattern or not but............

He is wrong about the heater, it is actually the pressure switch for the seat belt warning buzzer.

Maybe it was re-covered incorrectly, then. The back covers look like e body seats, I thought, but I swear I've seen a very similar stitching pattern on a charger.

Ok wait, I reread this and it made me very confused. The cuda seatbelts that I took out for my challenger had wires running into the plastic housing. This suggests a sensor in the seatbelts, not under the seat. Any other reason 2 wires would run into the seatbelts? :?:

The switch under the seat had to have sensors someplace. ;-)

You need a switch in the seat otherwise the seatbelt warning would sound with no one in the seat.

Then what are the electrical wires to the seatbelts for?

Since its the drivers seat, I dont see needing a switch in the seat, because when the key is on and the car is running there should be someone in the drivers seat! I think its a lot easier than doing something through the seatbelt, though. Which is why i am stumped as to why there are wires going into the retractable seatbelt housings. One red, one white.

I see your point. You would just need a switch in the drivers seat belt catch wouldn't you. :?

:s006: So the wires that go into the seatbelt are to tell when the belt is pulled out some, I am assuming. I'd like to see that arrangement.

Funny thing with the cuda that i took them out of, it had wires running into both sides, passenger and driver. I've never seen a light for a passenger to fasten seat belts. I'm curious as to what those wires did, then.
