Headlight & Wiper Switch Cluster

Quick question. The headlight & wiper cluster (rallye) that I have has 4 holes (one for headlight, one for wiper, one for dimmer). What is the 4th hole for, which is located on the bottom right?

The 4th hole is for rear defrost, an electrical unit that sits behind the rear seat, between the speakers. Expensive option to add if you want to ebay the unit.

...or if your car has an electric operated convertible, then this is the place where the switch is located.

I have the defroster switch with no defroster.lol

It now does my windshield squirters and fog lamps.

clever. I thought the windshield squirters were actuated by pushing the wiper speed switch down

Yes, that is the way it works if you have the correct wiper switch. Cars with manual (foot) operated windshield washers use another switch.

One nice bloke (one of the previous owners) drilled a fifth hole in my switch bezel. That is where he put the windhield washer switch (to convert it from manual operated). Not recommended!

You had to have the variable speed wipers to get electric wash switch on the button.

Yeah, mine has the 2 spd wiper motor and foot pump option.LOL I didn't want the foot pump. I figured this was a clean use for a dead switch.

You should have kept it original and drilled an extra hole like on Christers. :s006:
