Geez..i missed this one, boy why don't you ask a hard question...lol, actually this will be alot easier than you would think the ohconsole is made of a hard board kind of material that is formed to fit the top of your car i didn't take mine out cause it was already out when i got the car but i did put it back in and though it looks challenging..no pun intended..ha it went in real easy after you take all the trim pieces and screws off the only other thing i can remember that needs to come off is the seatbelt holder/clip then you have the center of the ohconsole holding up 3 (i think) screws just support the whole piece and unscrew it, after its loose disconnect the light pull the whole thing out(i did have my seat out at the time and i did roll the windows down)one thing i would do before you start if you haven't already - is to take video or pics of how it looks before ..how are you going to recover yours? i looked for the original material and could not find it...Image let me know how it went ...

I have an extra one with all material and pieces. It looks like it has 4 clips that allow for the unit to slide back and out. Do you know where the ground screw and wire attach?

Maybe he's talking about the whole SE headliner. There are two shoulder belt holders and mounts to deal with.

extra overhead console? wow they are getting rare consider yourself lucky! as for the ground screw i just ran the wire along the roof as it should go before i put the console up and i could tell where everything ran. because there were holes for screws to mount, so i would do as i did, running your wire and looking where the wiring ends for a hole for a screw to mount to, i am pretty sure it will be found in that center rib , yes the seat belt holder is just that, when not in use the shoulder belt can be stored up above under those clips this is the "holder" ...lol prob my words only. and of course the upper seat belt has to come out too i am not sure if my ohc had clips on it - i know the 2 sail panels did though what shape was your rear inner piece in? my original one was cracked but found another one in good shape Image

i just looked this over and saw a question i didn't answer where the wiring runs? is this right? hmm seems i used my service manual to help figure out how the wires run because again the previous owner took that out, there are factory clip type pieces that run the length of that center rib the wiring go's in and then runs thru the drivers side body along the window hardware in clips then to the kickpanel and up to the front, one also runs to the other side around the rear for the door ajar sign/light

I attached the free ground loop to a hole I drilled in the front metal rib that runs along the winshield. The dome light works in conjunction with the door ajar switches. Everthing operating there. Definitely is ge=tting power from the drivers side harness that is connected down the drivers side rear panel. The door ajar light and others are not recieving power however. I'm struggling to figure out why. I'm not aware of another connection that runs down the passenger rearpanel and to that door ajar switch. I do have my light switch panel disconnected awaiting a new headlight switch. Could something under the main harness wiring be causing this? HELP!!!!

lol..i had to get a password my new nick is rtse(used to be frank) do i read this right you have no wire plugged into the pass side ajar switch? if this is so try running a wire to complete the circuit maybe these are grounded only when a circuit is ran.... the wire on mine plugs into the back of the pass ajar switch then runs around the rear seat/trunk area in those same type clips you find for the overhead console then it plugs into the main loom that is on the drivers side,i hope its something easier than a main wiring problem, did it work proir to being taken out or do you know the person who owned the car prior to you, can you ask them? i guess your inner piece for the rear window must be in good shape....
