Interior rear quarter panels

Are the rear interior quarter panels the same for 70-74? I bought a really nice pair that are off a 70 model, but will not fit my 71. Is a RT or SE panels different from non RT? These seem to be a lot shorter and none of the screw holes will line up.

Thanks for your help!

I think that the convertible and the coupe have different panels. What do you think about that theory?

I think you are right!

Actually, the guy I buoght these from said they are for a 71, But they dont fit my 71. I got a feeling they are for a convertible.

Thanks,
John

Can you look on the back side for a part number and post it?

My experience with two 1970 and one 1972 coupes...... All the coupe and SE panels will fit into all years of the Challenger. The early 1970 SE's came with ashtrays in the armrests of the interior rear quarter panels - I've had two sets of those panels cross my path. Also, the screw hole by the front of the B pillar at the top of the rear interior panel changes location in 1970. I've seen panels with them in front of the B pillar and I've seen panels with them about three inches behind the leading edge of the B pillar. I can't recall where they were in the 72, but I think they were in the same position as the later 70's I've seen. If your panels do not fit into the car at all, you most likely have one of two things..... convertible panels OR Barracuda panels. Posting a photograph and the part number would really help us help you.

Yeah it sounds like you have the often sought after convertible panels.

I seem to remember seeing a post where someone was searching for a pair? :?

Item number: 4641617349

They are for sale on ebay, you can see a description of them amd part numbers too. Just enter the item number above in the search option.

I also had someone tell me these are for a Cuda and not a Challenger, (still an Ebody which I thought would work).

Thanks guys for all your help!

John

They are indeed for a E-body Barracuda and it looks like he ruined one of them unless that hole is OK for a power window switch. The idea stated in the write-up of repairing it is a pipe dream in my book - too much stress at the crank hole. Look at item #8066268100 on eBay..... these are what you want.
