What is the correct part # for a 70 Console? I just want to be sure.

You have automatic transmission, yes?
Base: 3505FX9
Top plate: 3504FX9

(Manual transmission:
Base: 3526FX9
Top plate: 3504FX9)

They both share the same top plate in other words :!: I have not thought about that

This one is an auto. It says 3506 ... 78364

Does that mean its a 71?

Are you sure that the fourth digit really is a "6" and not a "5"? :? Can you doublecheck that? Another possibility is that it is a misprint in P. Herd´s Interchange manual? I have looked for any combinations of the digits above, but I can´t find any console with those numbers in the book.

I will check the part number on my own console, the next time I am in the garage (if I remember to.... )

It is pretty obvious by looking at the hole at the back. On the 71 and later consoles the hole is smaller and looks different even if the ash tray is missing. The 70 has this big hole you can fit 4 belt buckels in.

This is what mine looks like. I don't think four belts can fit in that space, so it is probably a 71-74 console. Thanks guys

Yep that's a 70 alright. The ribs are there to hold the belt buckles.

I was wrong about the 4 belts. It only fits TWO! There was NO provision for the two shoulder belts!
