Air Vent removal?

Postby Steve R (Rizrtse) » 23 Oct 2002 23:54

Can anyone advise me on how to remove the dash vents that sit inside the dash on my 70. They are the dual outlets above the ash tray and the vent over the glovebox. The silver trim on the adjustable vents needs polishing. Thanks Steve

If they are the same as B bodies, they are held by 4 speed nuts that go onto plastic studs moulded to the vent, pull the tubes off, undo the nuts and lift them out upwards

From where? Underside of the dash? Their is nothing to unscrew when you look at the dash vents from a passenger view.

underneath, there are 4 nuts, one one each corner, the dash is out of the one I am doing so it was easy!

I think your referring to the ductwork under the dash. I'm referring to the actual grill-type vents that protrude through the dash that you can open and close.
