I seem to remember a curved guide that one cable runs over. Maybe for the cable running to the far side.

You really need photos from under someones car.

You can just about see some of the parts in these photos;

I do have a feeling they changed the emergancy brake design at some point. I faintly remember something like that.

Dead right Daveman, the long cable goes thru a curved guide, attached to the floorpan by the long spring steel hook :idea:

Yes but rural french are so smaaaaaall ! French cars are very smaller than an american car, drive a muscle car in a big city like like paris is nightmare, I live in a small country so its okay but I will never go to the supermarket with the Challenger, she will take two place in a french parking, lol, nice to see you love France :) hope I can make some pictures this month.

Ive also been to Paris France back in 1963 when I was a kid. I remember a big hotel and my Mother kicking my arse bigtime because I was running around like a Wild kid with ADD and Hyperactivity. Probably all that French sugar,,I ate a lot of sweets as a child. :lol:

That must be what the later version of the cable looks like because it is nothing like the one on my '70.

Yes, off my 72 the 70 was unique and used a 3 cable system,, the 71,72,73,74 used a 4 cable system. And you're very welcome Apelwaski, and yes the cable is above the exhaust system. I will someday visit France, England and of course Ireland! Maybe take Pat&Drew with me! :lol: (God help us) :lol: I think you can retro fit the 71 up on a 70 as long as you have all the parts and looks like you do. The only difference I can remember offhand is the small curved tab on the bottom of the floorboards on the 70. My 72 doesnt have one but then again it's not needed with the 4 cable system. I could be all wrong about this however! :lol:
