I know you know the guy at US Automotive? I think it is?

I have heard good things about the place but I am not 100% sure it is the cheapest route to a deal on parts.

Anyway. It is a long time since i bought any parts for an American car in the UK so I am probably out of touch.
I mainly shop on the US Ebay.
I have had great service from some of the online vendors there and their prices (even with postage and our customs bandits) are usually at least 30% cheaper than the UK prices if not 50%. So it is always worth seeing if you can find what you need by that means first. I have bought loads of bits recently for the Corvette from Ebay (had three parcels already and have three more on the way) and so far have still only spent £70 in total.

Money is money after all and these days it is in short supply. :(

You're right  So far he's quoted us approx £160 for the lot minus the m/c, but that does include a m/c seal kit. Not too bad I suppose, the obvious benefit is that he has stock, so Wayne can get on and do it within a couple of days and I can actually see and handle the parts, check they're right etc :D

You rekon Drew,? I wonder could I get a hole drilled by a shop and have a similar welded pin to hold the spring, would that work?

In that pic that shows 3 shoes together, 1 on the left side shows the back of what looks a locating pin for the self adjuster, can you flip it over and take a look? you only 1 shoe with that pin to make the adjuster work. And yes Wayne, rather than wait I would drill the backing plate and put a cotter pin in to act as a locator  you can get one from yer local pedal bike shop

A clevis pin actually, looks like this and available in 2 million different sizes, put it thru the hole and push an R clip into the end of it. Take a shoe in as a sample of the size pin you want :D

Perfect. I will have a hole drilled and then get the pin to fit and perhaps have it welded into position aswell.

Ok this might work, I can cut out the old brass pins on the old shoes and weld them into the new shoes...walla.........
