It would have been easier if you had just said £22.
Yes that is a lot. But at least it tells you what it is you are looking for. So shop around, do a Google or whatever. There will be somewhere doing them cheap.

Got a hydraulic and /or commercial vehicle spares place near you? they often still keep the imperial stuff, so do any old classic car outlets you might have over there

Hey Adrian,
I called into a brake specialist and they couldnt match them, so the fitting are imperial yeah? I could try and ring around to see if any of them have something like that, as for vintage specialist stuff here..no chance mate...market aint big enough over here. I will give it a go though.

Cheers Ade, in the meantime I have bored out the old lines from the connector nuts so they are now clear for new lines and I have used a grinder and a bench vice to hold the connector nuts in position while I went around the old rounded edges and gave them a new edge...they may be a smaller spanner size but its the best I can do....now can one of you guys give me an idea on measurement how far it is from the wheel cylinder on the driver side (inc the suspected bends) to the centre of the axle connector box thingy.

If all goes well I can get that 3/16" section flared on the connectors tomorrow and bobs your uncle and fannys............well another name for a cat...

WoW did you see what happened there lads.......Ive used me bonce for once........lol.....I bet Dave is splurting coffee all over his keyboard reading this........what????...he did what???......he used his head????!!!!.......that aint Wayne did he bang his head or is he unwell!!!........

I would have used a Mole-Grip as it has more chance of turning the nut than my head. :s007:

Im stuck at the moment until I can get a measurement for that section of brake line from the centre of the rear axle to the wheel cylinder.....anybody get a chance to measure it yet?

Measure the line on the other side up to level with the t-piece and use that. That way you can get the length of the bends etc included

Thanks Ade, at the moment Im in work and the car is at my mums place which is on the other side of the city so it will be the weekend before I can get over to it and do the measurement  , maybe on of the crew can do it and save me the hassle  , hey Ade do you think Ducan Watts would have that section of brake line and those fittings lying around somewhere in his yard?

You can't use old stuff like that on hyfraulics mate, else you'll get a re-run of your life changing experience
Get the brake tubing locally and I'll pick up some union nuts for you, get you a line on the lengths as well

I just pulled apart the last of the old wheel cylinder from the driver side rear.......man it was bad...real bad....completely full of rust on one side and full of gunk on the other....the brakes on this were well over due for an overhaul....

I could be in luck this weekend fellas to complete the brakes, Ade has sourced the union nuts so I can get the 3/16 line flared on em when they arrive, shouldnt take a supplier all of 5 to 10 mins to flare and bend unless I get a complete tosser of a shop guy trying to make a 3 hour job of it and claim for labour etc.

If that goes well I can stick that rear line on and then fit the rear drivers side cylinder and shoes etc. Then its up to the front driver side wheel to place the new cylinder and shoes....Im down 1 no spring so I will try and get a match in a hardware or something. Then do a bleed on the system and see how shes goes....Ooooohhhh......new shoes........aaahhhhh.....mmmm.......me likes......

Union nuts landed today..........I ran out to the car and grabbed the cylinder and threaded it.........nearly shot me load on the spot.......I got saturday all sorted out...fit the line early sat and sort the chally, watch the magners league final munster vs leinster( heiniken cup champs 2011) could be the double for them here.

Then watch Man Utd beat Barcelona!!!!

Super weekend all ready to go....nice one Ade!!!

Quick question lads............why was it so that bullys special prize was a fuckin speed boat which was no use to the two lads usually from leicester or somewhere like that.....lol
