Can a bent rear axle be straigthened in a jigg ???


Sounds plausable. Do you think the rear tires (over the long term) would wear different? Like the inside treads most ?

If the axle tube were bent, then the tires would not be set squarely on the ground, and would wear funny.

I have never heard of a bent axle tube where the shaft was fine. I suppose it is possible? I'd think you'd be very aware of the problem though, by self-destructing parts/bearings?

Yes it would be a disaster waiting to happen.

I looked to buy a car once when I was young and luckily my Dad followed be behind when I test drove it. He said the rear wheels were wobbling in and out like mad. :lol:
