Still working on my Top Banana A66. the engine compartment is painted, I will post more pics of progress. I got a rebuilt steering gear for power steering and went to remove, but there are some wierd star shaped bolts holding it in. Can anyone tell me what kind of wrench is needed to remove these bolts? Thanks

Charlie

I think what you are referring to are Torx-Bit Head fasteners. You can buy either a set or individual socket heads at Sears/Napa or Auto-Zone. They cost about $4.00 a socket for hardened tips or 20.00 for a set of 8. I like the Napa or Sears brand. You cannot use a phillips head, it will ruin the fastener and is a pain in the ass to remove once stripped.

For the three mounting bolts you need a 1/2" 12 point socket or wrench.

The socket is much easier.

steering box mounting bolts, one more question

Punch the pin out of the coupling. Then there are some bolts under the edge of the dash and around the base of the steering column at the drivers feet. It you remove all those you can pull the steering column back out of the way.
