Hello,

Looking to get a new set of tires. I have the original Challenger wheels, 14 inch, etc. Looking for a relatively stock look. Any suggestion on brand and size would be appreciated. Thanks,

- rich

You don't say if you have a 14x5, a 14x5.5, or a 14x6 wheel.

The standard Challenger tyre was a E78x14 with F70x14 optional.

The Standard R/T 14 inch wheel came with the F70x14.

This information is from my old and falling apart Challenger website at www.dodgechallenger.co.uk

Don't go below a 70 series tyre with 14 inch wheels otherwise it will look silly in the wheel arch. measure the width of the wheel and pick a tyre slightly wider. Just an inch or two at most.

Rich,It's a pretty slim selection on the 15" wheels as far as performance tires, I bet the tires for 14" are even worse. Rich, my R/T came with 14" Magnums and F-70 tires. I have a pretty stiff suspension, I am already over the tire limits on my setup and lust after 17" wheels and 50 series wide performance rubber. It wouldn't be too difficult to do what I did. I stored my Magnums and installed 15" Ralleyes with BFG 225's. I know money is an issue, but it's something you can tell the wife to get you for Christmas  You wont regret going from 14 to 15 and still keeping a stock look. I guess the 'donk' look is out for you?

Recently bought Firestone Indy 500's for 15" rallye wheel. I don't have many miles on them but they are pretty sticky. It seem tougher to spin the rear wheels these tires vs. my old BFG's. 235R60 front, 255R60 rears.

You can check out www.tirerack.com for additional information about what is available.

Thanks all for the great tips. I believe that I have 14 x 5.5. I was looking at a set of BFG 215 / 70 / 14. The car came with 60 series 245 good ole Kelly Super Chargers, Dave you're right, it looks ridiculous!!

Are 215's about the widest that will look reasonable on 14 inch rims? B/T/W Eddie, tires were the X-mas gift, maybe rims next year :s003: My birthday is in March though, just in time for the driving season here!

Eddie, what is the 'donk' look? :? I want to make sure I don't have it!

Thanks again all.

Rich my b-day is in March too. The donk look is huge, like in 40" wheels, I can't help but laugh at them. I am in to all kinds of performance even FWD Asian cars, Motorcycles,(SportBikes), and Turbo Toys, 4x4 Diesel/Gas trucks ect.. but that is totally ridiculous! Google Donk cars and you will see. It's a good laugh! BTW, those wheels are 4k-15k!! Enough for a new Crate 528 Hemi!!! :hmmm:

215mm is 8.5 inches wide so I wouldn't go any wider than that on 5.5 inch wheels.

Hi guys.

First of all I want to say hello. I joined because I am looking for some info regarding Chally. I am from Poland (Warsaw) and I own (somehow) Chally from 1971. 318 ci with 727 trans. This is demo car/show car so I want to make it not exactly original look.

Now my question.
I have 245/60-15 front and 255/60-15 rear with classic rims. I want to put something modern and big. I was originally thinking about 235/50-17 fron and 295/45-19 rear. As you see different rim sizes. Then somebody told me that I can put maximum 275 tire rear without changing suspension.
I know I look for 5 x 4,5 bolt pattern. But I have no idea about requested offset and if I have possibility to find something. Can you advice me, what is possible and what I should look for? I am thinking about some modern rims like Foose has or something like Dotz LasVegas. Of course I want the same model of tire front and rear but that might be difficult.
Any help appreciated, because there are about 7 challengers in Poland, and I really have no one to ask for infos.

Thanks in advance
Rafal

Donk Sucks!!! :disbelief: Hey, Aries Bro's. I'm 42, March 25th. I have my original 14"x6" up front with 235/60R14. In the rear, I got new 15"x8" Rallye wheel's, and put on some 245/60R15's. Just to fatten thing's up a bit in the rear. Very subtle, though. Just a kid. Patrick.
