Can a master cylinder be removed from the brake booster without loosing any of the fluid and having to bleed the brakes, also what is invloved in removing the brake booster from the firewall? Thanks for any help!

Yes. The back of the master cylinder is sealed. if there is any sign of fluid there it needs urgent attention and either re-built or replaced.

So just unbolt it and remove it. However the push rod that activates it may be a tight fit in the back of the cylinder piston. It may take some effort to pull it free.

The vacuum booster is bolted to the bulkhead. But you will also have to disconnect the bellcrank on the back of it that connects it to the brake pedal. If you look up under the dash you will see it.

Thanks dave, which manual did you get that diagram out of? Dodge Body Service Manual or Dodge Chassis & Service Manual? Also which one would you recommend for dash removal? Thanks

Everything is all in one book for the 1970 model I have. They split the manual into two parts in later years. So I don't know!
