Rallye Wheels 15x8 touching suspension arm

Ok guys dont beat me up, i have read most of the posts on wheel sizes, this problem is slightly different. (i hope)
I'm running 15x8 Rallye wheels (aftermarket i guess, i didn't stick them on there) with 4.5"offset and one side clears the top A arm without touching, by not much but it does, the other side a spacer has been fitted and when i remove the spacer it does not clear, it touches, but not by much.
I thought maybe neg camber but its not, its pretty much straight up and down
Ride height measured from the body is equal
I've cranked up he ride height and i can get some clearance although it still touches when the suspension compresses
Does anyone know if the ride height is too low if this causes this type of problem, or shall i just go get me some 15x7's and grind the 8's into small pieces?

I run 15x8s on the front with no problems. The car is away getting painted so I cannot take measurements for you.

Thanks Dave
I've cranked the front torsion bars up and i can get the rim to clear ok, the higher i go the better it is, although when the front compresses under heavy load they still touch.
It was a bit low to start with, but now its sitting pretty level.
As i have said the offset is 4.5", is this the same as yours as i believe you can get 4.25" which is the same as standard?
I was wondering if there was a difference in ball joint upper on drum vs disc front. I'm running drum currently and the ball joints seem original gear.

Yeah same offset. The only difference is I swapped to discs first. The front track width should be the same I thought?

I would have also thought that the higher you lift the suspension the less clearence you would get?

Maybe someone fitted suspension parts from another model car?

I found this old photo of my wheel in my files.

I've marked in white the point of contact, as the suspension is lowered the outer lip of the top A arm rubs on the shoulder of the rim where i have marked, there is about 5mm gap at rest at the moment with the torsion bar cranked up but when it lowers through compression it lifts the outer edge of the top arm as it is just over the pivot point and it touches.
Its just a bit strange, maybe the rim of the wheel has a slightly different contour to yours and that with the drum brake combining to cause the problem. I'll keep scratching my head and measuring. Thanks for your help Dave

Now I see.

Mmm. If it is only just touching I would dress the UCA with an angle grinder so it has a couple of mm clearence. It could be that this control arm is thiker than normal?
If you need to remove a lot of material - I'm not sure what I would do. :?

The control arms and ball joints are the same from drum to disc if I remember right. Just a different spindle (knuckle).
