Rim Diameter???

What is the biggest size rim that can go onto a challenger without cutting anything? i was thinking about 16's or maybe 17's but i dunno if that would be too big or not

The tire is what effects clearence when it comes to diameter. The idea is you fit a lower profile tire so the overall diameter is not any (or just a bit) bigger than with stock wheel sizes.

Most Challengers use a tire in the 26" diameter area. I run a 245/60/15 on the front which is 26.5" diameter.

A 255/45/17 is only 26" tall. Use my calculator at http://www.challenger440.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/maths.xls to work out what width and diameter you wheel/tire choice will be. Width and offset should be your main concerns.

Hello fellow Canadian. Pick up a copy of Hot Rod Magazine This month. Cover feature is a 70 Plum crazy challenger fitted with 18x8 rear and 17x7 front Torque thrust #2's. Looks real sweet and custom. I beleave the rear tire is 295 18 45, which is not as Low-Pro as one would expect. Of course he would have had to do some suspension work to accomidate ride hieght. Check it out on line – it should be there with a more robust story.

You'd fit 17's with no problem - just limit your tire height to no more than 28'' or so. Later yo.

Actually, There's a gentleman on this board with a 70 challenger. He has pics in the board members rides. Green, blacked out hood, w 17 torque thrusts. I believe he listed his tire combo. Find it and use those tires. posted about two-three months ago.

That would be Fat Tony's car? He has 17" ARE's with Pirelli P-Zero's , 235 /50/17 all round. Photo attached.

Also check out Freddie's Chally http://challenger.mpoli.fi/phpbb/viewto ... ?p=914#914

A 295/45/18 would be 28.5" tall and 11.5" wide.
