Okay, so let's say that your 318 puts out as much HP's as a stock 340. All you have to do is show up at the car parts counter and specify that you need shocks for a 73 Challenger with a 340 engine.
Quick rule: Match your HP with the corresponding engine and specify that engine when buying shocks.
And as to what brand name to buy, it doesn't matter much, just don't buy the cheapest or most expensive ones. It takes less than 20 minutes per side, usually, to change rear shocks. And that's in my driveway, on a Saturday morning...
