Thanks for posting that Ade! I'll have to check into it, I am still sciencing out my ignition for the 72. I need AMPS for E-85!!!(Alcohol based fuels need more amperage than typical,, a 300 mA system would be nice) :P

Interestingly it was mentioned in one tech article that timing had to be retarded a few degrees cos the unit was producing more amps and didn't retard itself at high rpms

I just read the MM article this morning, and I'm left wondering why they didn't pit it against a FBO box. The test board in the MM article looks just like the one which can be seen in this Moparts topic, and there's a FBO box (old design, they also have a rev limiter now) on the latter, not a "parts store replacement" like the third box MM mentions.

A standard form-factor ignition box is a pretty good idea for those who don't want to deviate too far from the stock look and wiring. The upgrade is pretty simple. The price is right if you consider an aftermarket alternative.
I'd go so far as to strip a ballast resistor of its innards and make it a zero ohm resistor to keep the wiring stock-looking.
I see on the Moparts topic that Dave Dudek tested one, but I'm wondering if the Rev'N'ator can be used in FAST competition. If the rev limiter was on the backside of the unit, it would be even better IMO (you'd have to unbolt the unit to change the rev limit, but with only one limit to play with, I don't think people will foll aorund with it very often. Under the unit would have been OK too.

Agreed Fabien, I would've liked to see an FBO box in that test too, just to see if it was actually a genuine independent product and not some freshly repainted Mopar unit that some have suggested before. The one I used has been perfect in operation and I like the rest of their products.
The RevNnator does look to perform admirably in tests tho and it's no more expensive than an FBO box either, I think that set of LEDs is a bit of a gimmick tho that may even put some Mopar originality freaks off installing it.
Anyway I'm still ordering one to stick on the Chally so I'll post up info ASAP when it lands here

Still it might be better than having just a knob to turn and no means of visualizing the rev limit, which seems to be the case on the new FBO rev-limiter box
