Gas tank ground wire

Postby The Toy Peddler » 22 Jan 2010 13:31

While finishing up the underside of the trunk area, and after replacing the gas tank, sending unit, etc. I see a wire hanging from the frame. It appears to be in the bolt hole area for the heat shield. I asked a local guy about a ground wire there and he doesn't think it was there originally. Is there supposed to be a ground wire in that area, and if so, where does it attach to?

No. Someone possibly used it to make a better ground for the fuel sender or to replace the stock clip.

Thanks! I do have the stock clip for the sender line. It looks like that area is all done except for hooking up the wiring for the sending unit. I am going to be tackling the wiring harness next week. I have the painless system, and after looking at it, it looks pretty straightforward. The best part is EVERYTHING is marked! Love that part.
