wiper problems 1970 challenger

Postby chall1970 » 04 Jan 2009 8:03

hi guys i am finishing a rebuild on a 1970 challenger and am having problems getting the wiper wiring hooked up as i did not disconnect it and it wasnt marked. The motor is marked as follows 3431077 ,73692 ,1730S and has 4 wires coming out of it to the firewall connector being brown, blue, red, green. I do not no if it is 2 or 3 speed or variable. Can anyone tell me what those colour wires do. The switch is similar to the dimmer switch with 3 speed positions and off position and push to operate washer although i still have the manual foot washer at this stage. The switch has 6 pins marked A B W P F2 and nothing on the last pin. It also has a resistor attached to the side of the switch. The numbers on it are 3488764 ,23199 , 3042. The wires at the switch end are Brown+,DBlue,Pink,Brown and there is also a red and green wire in another connector. If anyone could tell me were these wires go on the switch would be appreciated. I can get the motor to operate but it will not park or change speeds. I did some tests as described on this sute and the motor did run and park when tested. Regards Rob Perth Australia
