Hi Guys, now that i have my charging problem sorted and getting good voltage readings i have another issue with my challenger, the indicators all work as they should front and back, lights work, park lights ok,marker lights good too,my issue is my brake lights dont light up,have checked switch at pedal and all seems ok there, also notice if i put my hazzards on will light up front but not the backs,i figure they must be on the same circuit, checked connections from steering coloumn and seems ok also, any ideas as with rear indicators working a bit confused as same bulb as brakelights, could this be a fault in my steering coloumn wiring.cheers Paul :hmmm:

My guess would be the turn signal switch.

See if you have any voltage in the white wire fron the ignition switch to the brake switch. The hazards have their own flasher unit (relay) and that is powered by the pink wire from the ignition switch.

The only thing in common between them is the switch itself I think?

Paul, whats the voltage at the light bulb socket? Have someone wiggle the wires when testing it. Does the voltage change any?

I think you are going to find the turn signal switch is faulty to be honest.

I have PMed you a link to the wiring diagrams and instructions on taking the steering column apart.

I have a simple diagram of the turn signal/brake wiring somewhere at home. I will post it here when I get the chance.

OK. Sorry the one I drew myself years ago has gone missing (its in my garage somewhere) and I onlyhave a very poor scan of it reproduced here which is hard to read even after clicking on it.

But I also have a scan from the book by Skip Readio called "How to do Electrical Systems" which shows the connectors used by "The big three". So I have included that too.
