Pic´s of different Radios can be useful for us, right? The texts are borrowed from the ad:s, so I can NOT guarantee that everything is correct.
From an ad:
The visible characteristics that identify this radio as a genuine Barracuda/Challenger radio are:
1) The location of the antenna port is on the bottom of the radio. This is unique to E-Body radios only.
2)In the lower corners you will see two small "platforms" extending outward , with the alignment pins in the middle. Notice the "platform" on the left is a rectangle shape , and the one on the right is a square shape. This feature is unique to E-Body radios only

Thanks for posting this thread Chris. Very valuable info!

It took me the longest time and quite a "pretty penny" to get my AM/FM radio for my 70 R/T. (It didnt have the radio when I bought the car. The previous owner threw it away in the late seventies and replaced it with a cheap K-Mart Kraco unit. He also cut the dash to install it

) I then sent my correct Chrysler Radio to Perf. Instr. to have it rebuilt and some other parts replaced/replated. It looks factory fresh and is correct for my car and it works just fine. I prefer to listen to the exhaust!

 AM sucks anyways--No Metal

Thanks Eddie! I think that things like radios are not covered very well in the literature. I guess it is more exciting to write about horsepower, carbs and intakes....To have some pic´s can be a very valuable source when you are trying to restore your car in a correct way or, on the other hand, prevent you from being cheated at a swap-meet.
Btw; I have bought a radio that once belonged to a ´71 Hemi `Cuda (purple with white top). I am trying find this specific car so I maybe can reunite them back together.

From the ad: Original Chrysler AM/FM Stereo radio for 1970-71 Dodge Challenger and Plymouth Barracuda/'Cuda models.
Here is a late 1970 & 1971 Ebody Thumbwheel radio. R35 on the fender Tag, This is the AM FM Sterio model. This particular version has the much coveted Auxillary plug and sealing cap that can be used with the floor mounted or console mounted cassete player/recorder that came out late in the 70 model year and most of the 71 model year.

Here is the Philps version of the same am fm multiplex thumbwheel radio.
More info: Here is a correct original 1970 only(maybe be used in other years of course)Plymouth Cuda/Dodge Challenger AM/FM thumbwheel radio.Philips brand and Mopar part #2834658.Very tough to find 1st year,1970 style radio. The later year and '71 version had the cassette plug and were a Motorola,so if you want a real 1970 only style radio, this is it.
